About Therapy

What It’s Like to Step into This Work

You’ve been “holding it together” for way too long.

You’re the strong one.

The responsible one.

The one who keeps showing up, no matter how exhausted, overwhelmed, or unseen you feel.

There’s a heaviness that comes with that.

Managing everyone else’s needs at the cost of your own…

Endless frustration because the same patterns keep showing up…

Too overwhelmed to grasp the problem and actually make a change….

Here, things are different.

Whether you’re walking through the door of my office or logging into a virtual session, you’ll find a space that’s built for exhaling.

This is a place where your pain can be met with compassion instead of pressure, and your healing can unfold at a pace that honors you. When you’re here…

You can drop the mask.

You can say the things you’ve been holding in.

And you don’t have to have it all figured out when you arrive.

You’re not broken. You CAN heal.

I know that because you’re human, and we all have the capacity for healing and change.

Therapy can be hard work. But it can also be filled with laughter, insight, and moments that truly shift the way you see yourself and the world.

I’m here for all of it – with compassion, honesty, and the belief that healing is always possible.

Don’t wait another minute to live a whole, purposeful life.

About Lia Bigelow, MA, CAP, LMHC, LPC

My mission is simple:

To offer therapy that affirms, empowers, and transforms.

With over two decades in the mental health field…

I’ve had the privilege of helping people navigate a wide range of challenges with depth and authenticity.

Some of my background…

I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Rosemont College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania. I’m licensed in Florida and Pennsylvania.

I’ve worked in outpatient clinics, inpatient programs, and community-based settings, including with corporate clients, LGBTQ+ clients, justice-involved individuals, and those navigating deeply personal transformation.

One of the most meaningful chapters of my career was designing the first inpatient treatment program in the U.S. specifically for transgender and gender-diverse clients – an easily accessible space created to offer care where it had long been overlooked or denied.

What Therapy Means to Me…

Therapy is about rediscovering who you are, growing into the person you’re becoming, and reawakening the dreams you may have tucked away to survive hard seasons. Through this work, you will find clarity, purpose, and healing.

Therapy can be hard work. But it can also be filled with laughter, insight, and moments that truly shift the way you see yourself and the world. I’m here for all of it – with compassion, honesty, and the belief that healing is always possible.  You can heal!

It’s an honor to walk alongside people as they navigate healing and move toward a life that feels whole and purposeful. I’m so glad you’re here.

Outside the therapy room…

I find restoration in the simple, grounding things: traveling to new places that open my perspective, spending meaningful time with my family, and deepening my connection to my spiritual life.

I believe healing isn’t just about resolving pain; it’s about reconnecting with purpose, joy, and the parts of ourselves that bring meaning to our lives – the parts that have been broken or faded by life.
